Alexian Field to Host the
Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall

Save the Dates- The Memorial Day holiday, which commemorates U.S. men and women who have sacrificed their lives while serving in our military, will take on added significance in Schaumburg in 2008. Throughout the entire 2008 Memorial Day weekend, May 23-26, 2008, Alexian Field, home of the Schaumburg Flyers, will host the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall and the Cost of Freedom Exhibit.

The Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall is an 80% size replica of the original structure in Washington, D.C., stands over eight feet tall at its apex, and is over 370 feet long. The Wall will be located inside the stadium along the outfield warning track.

The Cost of Freedom Exhibit displays are nine large memorials to remember and honor all who have lost their lives for our country in service since the Vietnam War.

There will also be memorials for the current Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, World War II, Korean War, Women in Military and a 9/11 tribute.
The exhibits at Alexian Field are expected to draw nearly 100,000 onlookers throughout the 4-day holiday weekend.

Further details of the weekend and the exhibits at Alexian Field will be announced in the coming months. For more info on the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall and other exhibits please visit http://avtt.org/index.htm .
